Anja Nedremo was born and grew up in Drammen, Norway. She started her musical studies under Claus Olesen and Johannes Thorell and holds a BA and MA in classical saxophone from The Royal Academy of Music Aarhus. She made her debut from the advanced postgraduate degree in 2018 at the same academy, where she is now also one of the teachers. Anja has studied under Lars Mlekusch at the Conservatory of Vienna, and has a postgraduate qualification from Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya in Barcelona, were she studied under Nacho Gascón.
Anja has received a number of scholarships and grants, such as the Norwegian Ticon Prize (2013), the Danish Léonie Sonning music scholarship (2015) and Aennchen and Eigil Harbys Fond (2017). As a soloist, she has won competitions at home and abroad, and was the winner of the soloist competition at The Royal Academy of Music Aarhus/Aalborg, leading her to give two concerts with the Danish Sinfonietta and Aalborg Symphony Orchestra. She has on-going collaboration with composers in Europe and Scandinavia.
